European Union · Legal terms & client relations
A specific Member State’s law, GDPR and consumer safeguards.
Choose the region relevant to your order. Before contracting, agree the governing law, deliverables, payment and dispute process in light of your status and the parties’ places of business.
These are options for negotiating a contract, not four jurisdictions applying at once. Website language, currency and page selection do not choose governing law. Mandatory rules remain applicable regardless of the parties’ choice.
Contract country and client status
A B2B order selects a particular country’s law, not an abstract “EU contract law”. The contract defines scope, acceptance, intellectual property, taxes and disputes. A choice of law does not remove applicable mandatory rules, including consumer protection when its requirements are met.
Provider information
Before ordering, review the provider’s and controller’s name, address and contacts. Where national rules based on Article 5 of Directive 2000/31/EC apply, provider information must remain easily and permanently accessible. GDPR notices follow its deadlines. A brand with details deferred to a future contract is insufficient for those duties.
Distance services for consumers
Where distance-contract rules apply, withdrawal is generally available for 14 days after the service contract is concluded. Starting during that period requires an appropriate express request; losing the right after full performance requires the legally prescribed consent and acknowledgement. Payment for work already provided follows mandatory rules. B2B orders do not automatically receive this regime.
Rights and confidentiality
Where GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing and withdraw consent where relied upon. Legal conditions and exceptions apply; your right to complain to a supervisory authority remains. Agree the processing basis and any necessary international-transfer mechanism before sharing materials. Optional cookies requiring consent activate only after your choice.
