China · Legal terms & client relations
Mainland China: the Civil Code, PIPL and e-commerce rules.
Choose the region relevant to your order. Before contracting, agree the governing law, deliverables, payment and dispute process in light of your status and the parties’ places of business.
These are options for negotiating a contract, not four jurisdictions applying at once. Website language, currency and page selection do not choose governing law. Mandatory rules remain applicable regardless of the parties’ choice.
Territory and documents
This option concerns mainland China; Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan require separate assessment. The contract clarifies the party’s Chinese name, signatory authority, scope, results, payment, taxes, language and disputes. Governing law and courts or arbitration are agreed subject to mandatory rules.
Information before sharing data
Before personal information is processed, review the processor’s name, contact and other information required by PIPL Article 17. Where the E-Commerce Law applies, Article 15 requires public registration disclosures or an eligible exemption. The brand does not replace required identification.
Payment terms and limitations
Advances, stages, acceptance criteria, costs and return of the balance are recorded before ordering. Material standard terms and liability restrictions must be highlighted and explained where legally required. The seven-day return rule for certain goods cannot automatically be applied to bespoke research or consulting.
Materials and overseas transfers
Before sending files, confirm the purpose, necessary data scope and retention period. Sensitive data and overseas transfers have special requirements, including separate consent and an appropriate transfer mechanism where legally required. Agree the recipient and secure channel before transfer. Send data requests to u.contact@atomicmail.io.
